With sunny beaches, celebrities, and all manner of fun and memorable attractions, Los Angeles is a great vacation destination. If you’re planning a trip to the city in the near future, here’s a rundown on some of the main things you’ll want to know, including hotel recommendations and current COVID-19 restrictions. Due to the quickly changing nature of the Omicron strain, however, you may want to double-check nothing has changed close to your planned trip dates.
1. Where To Stay
Los Angeles has no shortage of lodging options for practically every budget and need. If you’re looking for some budget-friendly accommodations with modern flair, you’ll want to check out Avenue Hotel. If you’re looking for a fully luxurious stay, consider The Peninsula Beverly Hills or The Waldorf Astoria. Finally, if you’re looking for a fun and quirky vibe during your stay, you’ll want to check out Freehand Los Angeles.
2. Popular Things To Do
If you’re planning what to do in the city, adding at least one of these classic things to your itinerary is a great idea. If you haven’t been before, a trip to Griffith Observatory offers gorgeous views of the city as well as some excellent spots for taking photos. Viewing the famous Hollywood sign can also make for a fun excursion – or hike if you’re looking to get some fresh air. You’ll also want to check out some of the beaches in the area such as Santa Monica or Zuma Beach.
3. Memorable Hidden Gems
After you’ve checked out some of the iconic Los Angeles attractions and sites, you might be wondering what else to do. The answer is practically anything you can imagine – this vibrant city is full of unique and fun experiences. Located near Venice Beach, for example, are the Venice Canals – a set of canals connected with walkways that you can traverse. You also might want to check out St. Vincent Court, a street with colorful European-inspired architecture.
4. Where To Get Food
Whether you’re a foodie or you’re just planning where you’ll grab a bite to eat on your trip, Los Angeles won’t let you down! Here’s a couple of specific suggestions for a few different categories. If you’re looking for a formal meal, check out Nobu Los Angeles for some world-class sushi, or The Little Door for some delicious food and Parisian ambiance. For some more casual dining, Blu Jam Cafe offers some excellent options for brunch and has several locations throughout the city. And of course, if you’re in California, you should at least consider trying a burger from In N Out.
5. What Current COVID-19 Regulations You Can Expect
If you’re planning a trip to Los Angeles, you may be wondering what COVID-19 restrictions you can expect to apply to your trip. Here’s a quick overview of some restrictions or mandates likely to affect your trip – because the pandemic can change quickly, you may want to check for any updates close to your trip date. There is currently a mask mandate in effect in the state of California, which requires everyone in an indoor public place or workplace to wear a mask. It is set to be in effect until January 15th, 2022, though the possibility remains that it will be extended longer. Additionally, the Los Angeles City Council implemented some vaccine regulations in October. Finally, individual businesses or events may have other requirements such as limited capacity or social distancing requirements in place.
