USC takes a hit in new USA TODAY Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll – Trojans Wire

The USC Trojans are No. 21 in the latest edition of the USA TODAY Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll.

With less than a week until Selection Sunday, crunch time has come and conference tournament season is here.

The USC Trojans are preparing for the Pac-12 Tournament and have a few days to rest and prepare. Notably, they dropped several spots in these rankings.

The Trojans dropped five spots to No. 21 after a pair of losses. Sure, they came against top-15 teams in Arizona and UCLA, but they didn’t play very well in either game.

Nonetheless, the Trojans are headed for a monster week in Las Vegas. Their spot is guaranteed in the Field of 68, but an early exit could bump them from a six seed to a 7 or maybe even an 8, and that would be devastating for Andy Enfield’s group.

On the other side, a victory or two in Las Vegas should solidify them as a six seed and maybe offer a chance to move up to a 5. A lot can change, but the Trojans dropped in these rankings after a two-loss week.
